YWCA 1st Charity Art Auction

The YWCA Knoxville would like to invite artists to participate in a Charity Art Auction that will take place on May 9th, 2008. Art submissions will be hung at the YWCA Knoxville from May 2nd (First Friday) through May 9th and will then be sold at the YWCA Victim Advocacy Program Fashion Show through a silent auction on May 9th, 2008.

The YWCA VAP Program provides comprehensive domestic violence victim support including education, safety, and crisis intervention and addresses related health issues for women and their children. The Victim Advocacy Program is the only court advocacy non-shelter program which has advocates in both criminal and civil courts in Knoxville. In 2007, the VAP program helped over 11,000 victims of domestic violence in Knoxville.

The art submission should be the artist’s interpretation of “Mother’s Day”. Art submitted for the auction will be sold to benefit the YWCA Victim Advocacy Program and appropriate credit will be given to the artist. Please frame artwork and make it possible to hang. The YWCA Knoxville is a 501(c)(3) organization.
