The Tomato Head: a 5 Sphere Pizza!

The Tomato Head gets a 5 Spheres rating from Knoxville Business dot com!

It's natural for me to write the first of KBc's Knoxville Restaurant Reviews about my absolute favorite restaurant in Knoxville:

The Tomato Head!

Honestly, there aren't very many businesses in Knoxville that have created such a happy-to-be-loyal following as the Tomato Head has done. I myself am a pretty rational fellow, but talking about the TH makes my stomach go all a-flutter with happiness.

So rather than ramble incoherently, I've made a short list to explain why people like the Tomato Head so.

1. They've got great food, but it isn't especially fancy. It's just good, fresh ingredients, well-prepared, with very nice recipies.


2. Great food part 2: The Tomato Head's menu consists of perennial favorites like pizza, sandwiches, salads and specials of the day. And, their food will please both vegetarians and meat lovers.
   
3. They've got a nice selection of beers and wines. It's always that much more pleasant to be able to go out on the town and enjoy a little libation along with your meal.


4. Their desserts are sooooo good. I could enjoy getting really, really fat eating the desserts at the Tomato Head!


5. Their wait staff is just the right amount of interesting and quirky, very friendly, and all business when it comes to making their customers happy.


6. Location, location, location: The Tomato Head was one of the first businesses to get established in downtown Knoxville's Market Square, which is now (much thanks to Tomato Head) one of the most vibrant, fun and well-used urban spaces in all of Tennessee.


7. And last, but certainly not least, The Tomato Head is affordable. They could so easily charge more for the food, service, location, experience, etc. But they don't. My wife and I routinely eat there for less than $20, and we're good tippers!


I could go on, but I think you've got the point. Tomato Head is a wonderful place to grab a bite to eat.

In addition to their Market Square location, they now have a second location in downtown Maryville on Broadway. I work in Maryville, and have checked it out (OK, multiple times).

Tomato Head definitely gets this Knoxville food fan's seal of approval!
