The Knoxville Religious Art Company:Inquiry

I am seeking information about what I believe to be a mid-century business in Knoxville, called The Knoxville Religious Art Company.

They produced religious art prints framed with clear plastic and very bright colored frames about 10" high and 16" long. All subjects, art, were religious scenes, verdant or inspirational. I have collected three pieces and wonder about the origin of the business, and where I may continue my quest to purchase the full set of prints from this mid-century firm.

Can you share any historic information, or where I might shop for these prints? Knoxville mid century art dealers, Knoxville flea markets or Knoxville second hand businesses? I was given a picture of Christ in Gethsemane

My picture was a gift from a friend. I had admired it for some time becaue of my love for antiques. I am seeking information as to how old it might be and how I can tell if the beautiful blue colorful matt is genuine.

Mary & Baby Jesus print in colorful frame

Hi,
I actually purchased a framed print from the Religious Fine Arts Company today, 4/4/10, in Pennsylvania. So I guess you can find one almost anywhere. It has a sort of prayer at bottom entitled, "Mary, Mother of our Saviour." On the back is a label that is in perfect condition which describes why one should by a quality print and frame as opposed to a cheap one by comparing pocket watches. It's really interesting! It claims that the company is backed by 40 years of experience and it appears to be quite old. I too, am interested in it's value. Any ideas? roundeyes@epix.net

I HAVE THE PICTURE OF CHRIST KNOCKING AT THE DOOR. IT WAS THE FIRST THING MY PARENTS BOUGHT WHEN THEY WERE MARRIED IN SEPT. 3 1938. IT WAS PURCHASED AT AN OLDD FURNITURE STORE AT FRIES VIRGINIA, AT AN OLD SECOND HAND STORE. THEY BOUGHT THIS PICTURE, A TABLE AND A LAMP. THIS WAS 82 YEARS AGO. Curious about Company and picture

I am looking for information on the company because I thought they could shed some light on the picture I have in my possession. My picture that has been being passed on down to family, by deaths, etc., is entitled "Christ On Mount Olive". I am unaware of fact that this may be a collectible, and had other comparative pictures. It is a beautiful gold colored frame, and the picture is so touching. Religious Art pictures

We also have a picture from the Knoxville Religious Art Co. Ours is Christ Walking on Water with a verse on the front. On the back it has where it's from. It belonged to my husbands's grandmother. He said she had it for 60-70 yrs. He's thinking it's probably close to 100 yr. old since his great-grandmother owned it before that. If anyone has any information on this particular picture, we would really appreciate it also. We also have another really old picture that looks like it's made of some kind of chalk. It's of Jesus knocking on the door. On back, it has M.C. or M. O. Pottery, R.3, Geymour, Tenn. and something 1954 and Pat. pending. Does anyone have any information on this one? Thanks so much!

When my mother passed away in her belongings I found one of these with brightly colored frame. It was of Mary and baby jesus I remember this as a child in late fifties.

I have a piece my grandmother gave me, it hung in her basement for 50 years.

I didnt even know there was a "set" until last weekend 9-19-2009
I drove thru Tenn. And saw a billboard saying "LARGES FLEA MARKET IN THE STATE".. so I stopped, and found one, I bought it for $12.00, it has an orange frame, and says Jesus Too the Bread and Blessed it, w/ photograph.

My other one hangs in my classroom, its Jesus in front of his tomb, it has a green frame.

i have a framed picture of the guardian angel on a bridge.the frame is gold mettalic and must be at least 50 years old .the picture is about 17 inches long and 11 inches wide.on the back of the picture it says it was framed by the company no exact date.would appreciate any info on this picture.

this is to floyd. I have one of the pictures that you are talking about .I want to know how old this picture is. My mother had it and she told me that it was my grandmothers picture. on the back of the picutre there is some wording.

Hello, Floyd - thanks for your question! I've never heard of the company, but there are many great antique stores in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. That might be a good place for you to start looking, as they would be more likely to have come across the pieces you described.
