The Jim Gray Gallery

There is a lot happening at the Jim Gray Gallery, the artist recently celebrated his 75th birthday, one of his galleries was lost to fire, and his grandson, who inherited his grandfather’s artistic talent, is preparing for a one man show, on December 30, 2007.
Jim Gray Gallery is home to his original paintings with a variety of subjects, including a recent fire that claimed one of his galleries in Gatlinburg. His other two galleries, located in Pigeon Forge and Knoxville, are open for business as usual; 10a.m. to 5.p.m. M-F or by appointment.
Jim has a natural eye for ethereal landscapes with a dream like, although realistic quality.
There are works in particular that show the artist’s emotion, including a painting of the fire that claimed the Gatlinburg Gallery. There are other works as well, including bronze sculptures and watercolors from a trip to Italy.
The Jim Gray Gallery is also offering a book, titled “The Roads I have Traveled” which includes the artist’s personal photos, over 194 color images of his paintings and sculptures. The book also includes sketches and Jim’s personal biography, “Turning Points. This is a first edition book and can be ordered from his website as well.
Upcoming shows, events, and additional contact information, are listed on the gallery website, www.jimgraygallery.com. The next show will be the works of Daniel Gray, the artist’s grandson. Daniel has been studying in California, working on theater sets while painting and drawing for this show. Daniel’s show will also coincide with is 25th birthday, December 30, 2007 and he will have approximately 50 new works on display.
