The Hanson Gallery, Fine Art & Craft, located in the Bearden District, represents an eclectic collection of artists. Owners Doug and Diane Hanson opened the gallery in 1988.
Both left professional jobs as studio artists’ to pursue this partnership, and have continued to assist their gallery to evolve as a professional venue for fine artists. Their collection includes sculpture, paintings, artist crafted jewelry as well as art glass and mixed media.
Currently, they also represent a number of fine area artists, including Robert Batey, Anne Blair Brown, Roger Brown, Raymond Chorneau, Carole Connely, Pamela Hart, Mildred Jarrett, Edward Kellogg, Martha Kennedy, Darlis Lamb, Megan Lightell, Cynthia Markert, Rachel McCampbell, Richard Painter, Joe Parrott, Christine Peloequin, Denise Sanabria, Suzy Schultz, Barry Spann, William Suttles, Christopher Terry, John Torina, Micheal Waterman, and Dawn Whitelaw.
All of these artists works can be viewed on the Hanson Gallery website.
The fine craft work of Grady Kimsey and Steve Olszewski can also be viewed online.
The Hanson Gallery of Fine Art and Craft also includes a customer framing area, with over 3000 choices, and provides multiple service choices from vacuum sealing for conservation to framing for the discriminating decorator.
Upcoming events include a show by Joe Parrott, entitled "Knoxville Revisited"
There will be an opportunity to meet the artist on January 12, 2007 from 10a,m-2pm.
The show will continue until January 29, 2007.
Gallery hours are Monday - Friday 10 am - 5:30 pm, Saturday 10 am - 5 pm.
