The Coolest Thing in Knoxville Music?

Asking for the coolest thing in Knoxville music is like asking for the best painting by a master.
They're all good - even the ones that aren't great are part of the sum total, and the sum total of a master's work is what makes them a master.
Similarly, the Knoxville music scene has many fascets. Some are cooler than others, but together they make something bigger than cool.
In sum total, the clubs, musicians, bands and fans that make up the Knoxville music scene become something awesome -- a music scene that rivals the best-known cities to play music in the country.
I first realized the truth of this when interviewing Tony Lawson, General Manager of WDVX, and asked him what he thought was the best thing about the scene.
His response was better than what I've written above, but pretty similar in scope. The more we the people who make up this scene work together, collaborate, and strive to do something better than just 'good' or 'cool', the greater the whole becomes.
So it's with just a little bit of sheepishness that I ask the question, "What's the coolest thing in the Knoxville scene?"
All the same, I asked because I want to know - because everyone wants to know!
Ultimately, we all have favorites, and sharing those favorites, debating them, and going out to experience them for ourselves to make up our own minds about them -- that's half the fun in having a great scene!
In can't-hardly-wait anticipation of your Knoxville Music Scene opinions,
