Knoxville Musician Spotlight:
Scott McMahan

A new regular contributor to the Knoxville music scene is Scott McMahan, frequently billed with The Overnite Lows.

Scott McMahan with son His heart-felt bluesy delivery and authentic broken-heart songwriting have people who’ve had the good fortune to see him perform live speculating that he could make a real mark on the Knoxville music scene.

The first time I met Scott, he told me nothing was more important to him than trust and honesty. He's one of the few people I've met who really does back that up, and his honesty comes through in his music.

Going to see his show is definitely an experience of seeing a man play the guitar and sing with his heart. You just get the feeling that every word, no matter how many times he's sung the song, is absolutely true to him in that moment.

Another endearing aspect of his live shows is the obvious love he has for his audience and his excitement for having the opportunity to be on stage playing for you. He cracks jokes because he wants to -- not because he's nervous or trying to be someone he isn't.

If you're into supporting local musicians who intend to be here for the "long haul," I encourage you to click here to hear cuts from Scott's demo, and to find out about his upcoming shows.

Enjoy, and be sure to check him out the next time he's playing in town!
