Knoxville's Downtown Arts District

The rejuvenation of Downtown Knoxville seems to be building up to a crescendo, and one sweet note from our beautiful - if occasionally discordant - symphony of growth will soon be introduced to Knoxville art lovers: the Downtown Arts District.

Chris Molinski, one of the planners of the newly-forming DAD, is starting a website that will inform the Knoxville public about downtown arts events and shows, and will feature video clips of downtown artists, galleries, music venues, theatres and shops.

"The idea is to make a dynamic - interesting presence for Downtown Arts online," said Molinski, and to support that site with a multi-media board on flickr.com.

You'll be able to visit one place on the web to get a quick glance at what's happening in the district, and combine your next trip to downtown Knoxville for pizza at the Tomato Head with a stop by one of our many Downtown Arts District members.

So keep your eyes and ears open for word from the Arts District. It's an association that's forming to help make our fair river-side city a better, more vibrant and colorful place to visit, work and live.
