Missi Johnson, "Star" by "Nazareth"
In September of 2007, Manny Charlton, the world famous original guitarist and record producer for the 70s super band Nazareth, did a world wide talent search for his 40th anniversary Nazareth tribute CD project.
It's highly likely that "covers" of Nazareth songs
by Guns N Roses and Metallica, will be featured on the album, but most artists will most likely be
unknown, like Knoxville recording artist Missi Johnson, whose soft-rock/acoustic version of Nazareth’s ballad called “Star” will be featured on the Nazareth Tribute CD which will be called "Ruby."
Missi's Nazareth tribute story has been featured in Maryville's "Daily Times" and on "Live At 5" on W.B.I.R., Channel 10.
The Naz Tribute Website which will be opening on September 1st, 2008, and will feature biographies and photos of 40 bands and artists from around the world
doing their own versions of NAZARETH songs, as well as ordering information for the Nazareth Tribute CD.
The Naz tribute CD will be released world wide and is expected to be released during September or October of 2008.
It will be a 2 CD set with 40 songs.
Many genres will be represented, from Country to Punk to Hard Rock.
Nazareth fans around the world have been waiting for a year for this release.
Judging from the Nazareth tribute sound samples provided on Manny Charlton's Myspace page, this upcoming release holds much promise!
