Knoxville Recording Artist Missi Johnson and the Nazareth Tribute CD "Ruby"

by glamour puss
(knoxville)

Missi Johnson,

Missi Johnson, "Star" by "Nazareth"

In September of 2007, Manny Charlton, the world famous original guitarist and record producer for the 70s super band Nazareth, did a world wide talent search for his 40th anniversary Nazareth tribute CD project.

It's highly likely that "covers" of Nazareth songs
by Guns N Roses and Metallica, will be featured on the album, but most artists will most likely be
unknown, like Knoxville recording artist Missi Johnson, whose soft-rock/acoustic version of Nazareth’s ballad called “Star” will be featured on the Nazareth Tribute CD which will be called "Ruby."

Missi's Nazareth tribute story has been featured in Maryville's "Daily Times" and on "Live At 5" on W.B.I.R., Channel 10.

The Naz Tribute Website which will be opening on September 1st, 2008, and will feature biographies and photos of 40 bands and artists from around the world
doing their own versions of NAZARETH songs, as well as ordering information for the Nazareth Tribute CD.

The Naz tribute CD will be released world wide and is expected to be released during September or October of 2008.

It will be a 2 CD set with 40 songs.

Many genres will be represented, from Country to Punk to Hard Rock.

Nazareth fans around the world have been waiting for a year for this release.

Judging from the Nazareth tribute sound samples provided on Manny Charlton's Myspace page, this upcoming release holds much promise!

NAZARETH treats thier fans like CRAP
by: another naz tribute artist

over a year ago, i was asked to participate in a tribute album to the 70's rock band nazareth

that was being compiled by the original lead guitarist and record producer for nazareth's most famous album " hair of the dog."

my submission was chosen to be on the tribute which was going to be called

"ruby -a 40th anniversary tribute to nazareth" and atleast 10 other bands from myspace were chosen as well.

then one day Nazareth's website announced that they were going to do everything in thier power to stop the Nazareth tribute release,

most likely because of thier hatred for the person who was compiling the tribute.

now none of us tribute artists have heard anything about the tribute since september of 2008, and all mention of it has been removed from the internet.

now all of us tribute artists are stuck with recordings that apparently are not going to be on the tribute,

so we are faced with having to release them as singles, knowing they probobly won't sell well because we are unknown artists.

due to the controversy, one artist has already released the song she had submitted in the online record store called

CD BABY after giving up on the tribute release,

and has titled her tribute
" star-a tribute to nazareth "

that's how Nazareth treats thier fans who spent time and money recording thier songs as a tribute ???

bottom line, NAZARETH treats thier fans like crap!

what a bunch of JERKS!

Good luck to Missi though.
