Knoxville Jazz Orchestra: A great Music Experience

Since its foundation in 1999, The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra's performances have been described as energetic, exciting, engaging and highly entertaining. This is a 17-piece big band with five saxophones, four trombones, five trumpets, piano, bass, and drums. The band has members who are East Tennessee's top professional musicians and they perform wide range of music.

The trumpeter/arranger Vance Thompson is the founder of this band. The band has appeared on jazz festivals in Europe, released four CDs and performed dozens of concerts in Knoxville.

Knoxville Jazz Orchestra will be performing a themed event, A Swingin' Christmas on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 8:00 pm at the Tennessee Theatre. The orchestra's other local events include Jazz is for Lovers, Evening with a Legend, and a Tribute concert.
