Knoxville Entrepreneurship News 11-13-08

Knoxville entrepreneurship news had a nice jolt this morning with the announcement of the Knoxville Overground Celebration of the First-ever Global Entrepreneurship Week with its First Annual Startup Awards ceremony.

Partners from around Tennessee and the world come together in an effort to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. Knoxville Overground honors thirteen local startups at its awards ceremony and joins the celebration.

The First Annual Knoxville Overground Startup Awards will honor thirteen inspiring startups and their founders in variouscategories headquartered in the Knoxville and Oak Ridge region. Free cocktails will be provided at this public event, compliments of Angel Capital Group and other sponsors. MayorBill Haslam and other local leaders have been invited to attend the event.

This event is part of the larger first-annual Global Entrepreneurship Week, November 17th through the 23rd, which is designed to bring together young people from a variety of cultures and disciplines to understand how they can be innovative and thinkentrepreneurially. More than 75 countries have joined this globalcelebration to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. Tennessee is one of the most active states participating in the US, with over thirty events planned during the week across the State.

The events takes place from 6pm-9pm on Wednesday, November 19th, 2008, in the World Grotto: 16 Market Square, in downtown Knoxville.
