This is what i need. i need thirty dollars for my game, then after that i have to start saving money for college. I want to be a doctor so i can save peoples life.
KnoxvilleBusiness.com response: Hi Davontae! Pursuing a career in medicine is truly an honorable aspiration. I can't help you with the 30 dollars (though I can help learn how to earn it!).
In addition to saving for college, be sure you're taking all the advanced math and science you can in school, and work hard for those good grades -- that will take you a long way towards helping to pay for college.
A good college with a strong pre-med program will expect you to at least have a 3.5 GPA and to have taken all of the following courses while in High School (in either College Prep, Honors or A.P.):
- 4 years of English
- 3 years of science, including biology and chemistry
- 3 years of math, including algebra I and II and geometry
- 2 years of foreign language
- 3 years of social sciences (US History, world history, government, econonomics, etc.)
- fine arts and religion are usually not required, but are good for rounding out your transcript
In addition to all of the above, you should be getting real-world experience through volunteer service and leadership positions in your school (student government, school clubs, athletics, etc.).
Good luck!
