East Knoxville Restaurants serve a diverse population, and offer a diverse variety of good, old-fashioned home-cooking. If you're looking for a real taste of the South - both in terms of food, and in terms of hospitality - this is definitely an area that you should consider.

Here are some of my favorites:

Chandler's Deli, 3101 E Magnolia Avenue
AMAZING soul food and bar-b-que. If you consider yourself a rib connoisseur, you simply have to give Chandler's a try.

Mary's Hot Tamales, 1931 E Magnolia Avenue
As you can guess, Mary's serves folks with a South-meets-South-of-the-border hankering. Mary's offers entres ranging from mild to hot in spice.

Lema's World's Famous Chittlins, 3931 Holston Dr
You just have to love the name of this restaurant, and if you like real Southern soul food, you won't be disappointed!

The Philippine Connection, 3225 E Magnolia Avenue
Authentic Philippino food is served at the PC. It was recommended to me by a good friend who said "this is where the young people from East Knoxville go for fun food after a night on the town."

I'm still exploring East Knoxville, so the above recommendations will have to be the extent of this page for now.
