Be A Cookie Master!

More Kinds of Cookies, Less Work

More Kinds of Cookies, Less Work

Make some money by helping people have great Christmas cookies! Everybody loves having lots of different kinds of pretty, delicious cookies for friends and family to enjoy, but it takes a lot of time and works and loads of ingredients to have a really good variety.

Cookie cooperatives help out by having several people make a lot of one kind of cooky and then sharing with others who make different kinds. You end up with a great assortment but only have to buy stuff and make one kind, your specialty or whatever is easiest for you.
People who are cooking challenged can even decorate refrigerated cookie dough to make great cookies. An example is shaping any slice of this dough into a long triangle and adding candy eyes, a raisin nose and pieces of pretzels to make antlers for reindeer cookies! The whole family can have fun making them.(You might consider selling these yourself as another business!)

What a Cookie Master would do is recruit 6 to 12 families to bake cookies and then package the assorments for everyone. If you have ten participants, you ask them to each bake that many dozen cookies plus one dozen to allow for breakage. You charge a fee to wrap a dozen of each kind of cookie and make an assortment for everyone in the swap.

The extras make sure that every assortment has really nice cookies and the leftovers can be put out for snacking and sampling when people pick up their boxes. You get to keep and eat some too, usually.

Set a drop off time for the cookies and a pick up time a few hours later. You need to work this out with your parents, of course. If they agree or people are close enough to you, you could offer delivery for an extra charge.

If you provide boxes for the cookies or some kind of container, you will need to charge a little more, but the easiest thing is to repack the cookies in the containers people brought their kind in.

It's easy to make big batches of one kind of cookie, so with your help, people can bake once and one thing, but put out six or more different kind of goodies!
